Obituary for John Raymond "Ray" Enright

John Raymond "Ray"  Enright
Ray Enright, 85, passed away peacefully November 13, 2011 at his Silt home.
 
Ray was born May 3, 1926 in Elizabeth, New Jersey to John H. & Marie (Gleason) Enright. After graduating high school in 1944, Ray joined the Army and was honorably discharged after the end of World War II. He began his illustrious career in law enforcement on the streets of New York City. He lead the task force that captured Mob Boss Vito Genovese, and served on the US Senate'sMcClellan Committee while an agent in the Bureau of Narcotics, later becoming Regional Director of DEA. Ray was appointed by Gov. Dick Lamm as Director of the Colorado Bureau of Investigation, and then by Gov. Roy Romer to serve on the Colorado Board of Parole. In 1994, Ray and his wife Janie (Green) moved to the Western Slope where he later retired.
 
Ray was preceded in death by his parents; former wife Marjorie; daughter Megan McMechen; and sister Arlene DiLeo.
 
He leaves behind his loving wife Janie; sons John, Matthew, Daniel, Paul, James, Ryan and Scott; daughter Laurie Marlin; brother Robert; 17 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
 
Per Ray's wishes, cremation has taken place and services are being planned in Littleton's Saint Francis Cabrini Catholic Parish, on Tuesday, November 29th at 1:30 PM.
