Melvin Joseph McKeon
May 22nd 1935 – Aug 5th 2012

Born May 22nd, 1935 in Bay County, Michigan, Melvin and his family lived and grew up in Michigan before discovering his passion for the Rocky Mountains in the wonderful state of Colorado. He later spent time in Arizona and Texas before finally returning home once again to Colorado.

Melvin was a committed husband of over 56 years and a dedicated family man of five children and 32 grandchildren. His personal time centered on spending time with his family and friends in the outdoors. Melvin’s passion as an avid outdoorsman, hunter and fisherman was shared with family and friends alike, which led to life long memories and bonds that stayed with him late into his years.

Much of Melvin’s working career was working with his hands as a mechanic for a variety of companies; however most of his time was spent as a Union leader during his 17 years with Buick motor company in Michigan. Melvin also took great pride in serving as the president of a local Michigan chapter for the handicapped, which led to his annual involvement in the Special Olympics.

Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Joann McKeon, Daughter, Kim (Wisdom) and husband Mark, sons Rodney and his wife Kathy, Melvin Jr, James and his wife Shelby, Erick and his wife Jocelyn, 16 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren. Melvin is also survived by his Mother, Sister, and three brothers.
